Plasma Laser cutting process
Plasma cutting process involves creating an electrical channel of superheated, electrically ionized gas (the plasma) from the plasma cutter itself, through the work piece to be cut, thus creating a complete electrical circuit in the plasma cutter via a grounding clamp is constructed. This is accomplished by a compressed gas (oxygen, air, inert and other material depending on the cutting) which is blown through a concentrating nozzle at high speed towards the work piece.
An electric arc is then formed within the gas, between electrodes or integrated into the gas nozzle and the work piece. The electric arc ionizes some of the gas, creating an electrically conductive channel of plasma. As electricity from the cutter torch passes under this plasma, it provides enough heat to melt through the work piece. At the same time, the high-velocity plasma and much of the compressed gas blow away the hot molten metal, causing the work piece to detach, that is, to separate.

Hand-held torches can usually cut up to 38 mm (1.5 in) thick steel plate, and stronger computer-controlled torches can cut steel up to 150 mm (6 in) thick.[1} Plasma cutters produce a very hot and very localized "cone" for cutting, they are extremely useful for cutting sheet metal into curved or angled shapes.
